Life After College Athletics: Jennifer Munoz

Our former teammate and role model, Jen Munoz, has taken her soccer career to the next level. Jen has signed a pro contract with Club America Femenil, the highest division of women’s soccer in Mexico. Jen graduated the University of New Mexico in 2019 and is one of our close friends. Looking at her overall career at New Mexico, she has been one of the biggest impact players to come through the program. 

Could you imagine your five year old soccer dreams coming true? Like true, TRUE? Getting paid to play your favorite thing in the whole wide world? Well, that’s what one of our former teammates did. She’s taking over the world, as we like to call it. Former Lobo soccer star Jen Munoz is doing just that.

            I always think about people like Jen who manage to pump out hit after hit, banger after banger… every dang time she steps on the field. Does she ever get scared? Does she ever get a little too excited? Does she remember me? (haha, I’m kidding) But I’m sure she does. She’s great anyway, and she succeeds at anything she puts her mind to. It’s what she’s amazing at, it comes so natural to her. She’s inspiring so many young soccer girls not just in the United States, but in Mexico too.

            Taking your soccer career professional is something that less than one percent of women’s collegiate soccer players get to do. She’s paving the dream for little girls just like her to take their career past college and into real life. She’s for sure MY role model and it’s crazy to me she’s touching so many lives across the world.
